What type of food do you serve?

Guests at Boonoona will enjoy three meals every day. This includes a hot and continental breakfast, light lunch such as sandwiches, and a three-course dinner. The menu is generally popular Australian cuisine such as a bacon and egg breakfast and meat and vegetable dinner. Dietary requirements can be catered to. Please notify us at least one week before your arrival.

What if I don’t want to come back for lunch?

No worries! Most people don’t because they’re having too much fun on the slopes. There are plenty of canteens, restaurants and bars around Perisher.

Smoking is not permitted inside Boonoona Ski Lodge. You can smoke outside but please dispose of your cigarette butts appropriately.

How do I get to Boonoona?

Boonoona Ski Lodge is located at Perisher, within Kosciuszko National Park. It’s a touch under 500km south-west of Sydney, 550km North East of Melbourne and 200km south west of Canberra.
The best way to get here is to drive to Bullocks Flat, about 20 minutes from Jindabyne, park your car and catch the Skitube into Perisher. The train-like service comes every half an hour and only takes ten minutes. One of our hosts will pick you and your luggage up from the Skitube Terminal at Perisher and take you straight to Boonoona. Book your Skitube ticket in advance here
There is no space for private vehicles at Boonoona, and overnight parking is not permitted in Perisher Valley, so you will need to leave your car in the free, overnight parking at Bullocks Flat. The area is patrolled by security and because it’s almost always lower than the snowfall line you don’t need to carry snow chains like you do when you venture further into the national park.
It’s important to note the Bullocks Flat Skitube Terminal is on Alpine Way, which is the road to Thredbo, not Perisher. This can catch people out so make sure you’re on the right road.

What if I have a 4WD or AWD? Can I drive directly to Boonoona?

No. Do not drive directly to Boonoona. There is nowhere to park on site.

Can I ski directly from Boonoona to the chairlifts?

Yes, once there has been enough snowfall to create a base of at least 20cm, guests can ski from the front door of Boonoona down to the Leichhardt Chairlift on the left and Quad Express and Village 8 Express to the right. If you are a first-time skier, transport to Front Valley can be arranged.

Where do I buy my lift pass from?

To save time it’s best to buy your lift pass online here. If you already have a Mountain Access Card your lift pass can be automatically uploaded onto it. If not, you can pick it up from the Perisher office at the bottom of Front Valley or the Skitube Terminals at Perisher and Bullocks Flat. You will need to have your photo taken for the pass.
If you plan to ski for five days or more it’s cheaper to buy a season pass. There are discounted tickets and season passes for students 17 years and under and senior citizens over 70. Infants aged 1-4 are free.
Lessons can be added on to lift passes and are highly recommended for first-time skiers and beginners. Professional instructors will help you learn the correct technique and offer tips to make your experience more enjoyable.

Where do I hire snow gear from?

You can hire gear at Perisher but it’s quicker and cheaper to hire it at Cooma or Jindabyne. There are loads of ski hire shops in the area. We love Rhythm at Cooma. It’s open 24-hours during the snow season and has everything you will need for sale or hire. Professionals will help you choose the right equipment and fit it properly.

Do I have to pay the full cost of the trip at the time of booking?

A 50% deposit is required to secure your booking. The total amount must be paid 45 days prior to arrival. If your booking is made less than 45 days before arrival the full amount must be paid.

Something has come up and I need to postpone my trip to Boonoona. What are the rules around that?

Bookings cannot be cancelled or transferred and are non-refundable. However, date changes are permitted until 30 days before your scheduled arrival.

What happens if City Tatts has to cancel a booking or NSW is placed into Covid lockdown?

You can choose between a refund or a credit.
